THE SEA

There you have the “sea”,
immense, blue, welcoming, stormy and calm
and calm with its transparent waters.
Peaceful and calm, it calls for stillness.

Life in its waters flows silently and fruitfully.
In the sea, there are no certainties,
insecurity stalks you.

To sail, to transit, to travel in the sea…
there are no certainties there, everything is water
that flows, stirs, carries you.

Yearnings grow, hope increases.
Travel brings light and calm on the horizon.
What is glimpsed in the distance, is already approaching.

The sea and the river of my childhood saw me grow up.
Today, I crossed other seas, they helped me grow.

Life has matured, in many places I prayed,
also in the ships I cried
when the farewell on the faces I marked.

The immensity and grandiosity of the sea
leads to the contemplation of the Creator’s presence.
