Moving from Macau to the Philippines was an exciting and transformative experience. The vibrant culture and warm hospitality of the Filipino people made me feel like I was coming home.
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the diverse landscapes and rich history the Philippines offers. From the bustling cities, each place has its own unique charm. This environment not only served as a backdrop for my studies but also inspired me to explore different aspects of my identity and culture.
With the blessing of our Provincial Coordinator, her Council, and our formators, I enrolled in a modular class. The learning experiences I had by joining these modular classes were a highlight of my educational journey. These classes emphasized experiential learning, which taught me more about human formation, as well as what inspires me in my spiritual life, and most importantly, helped me on my formation journey to discern and make the best choices in my life.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this experience was the friendships we have among all the other religious congregations. My classmates came from very diverse backgrounds, each bringing their own unique stories and perspectives. This diversity enriched our discussions and deepened our understanding of many concerns.
Moving to a new country comes with its challenges. Adapting to a new environment and different cultural norms requires resilience and an open mind. However, these challenges have taught me invaluable lessons about flexibility and the importance of community.
As I continue with my modular class, I am excited about the opportunities that await me and, most of all, the presentations we will have at the end of the semester. This trip has not only broadened my horizons but also made me appreciate cultural exchange even more. I look forward to using the skills and knowledge I have gained to positively contribute to this life in the mission God has given me.
