WE ARE ART. WE ARE WORKS OF ART

It is the motto chosen in the Educational-Pastoral Itinerary by the schools of the Santo Domingo Educational Foundation for this 2024-2025 academic year, because we live surrounded by beauty and it is only necessary to open our eyes to discover it.

            This is the objective that the teachers of the Stella Maris FESD (St. Dominic Educational Foundation) in Madrid want, in their daily work of the educational process and, starting from the fact that God has made each person a work of art, to help their students to recognize the exterior and interior beauty of people, to collaborate so to create it and to accompany them to take care of it.              

Contemplation, silence, meditation and prayer are marked as the first fundamental pillar, means to achieve a calm and profound gaze.

            In this month of October, so ours indeed and so missionary, contemplation focuses on the beauty of Mary as a companion on our journey. We admire her lowliness and how she is amazed at the greatness that God has placed in her and thanks him. We too have more than enough reasons to say to God: Thank you for the work of art you have made for me, endowing me with so many qualities.       

After reflecting on the beauty of Mary, the whole school celebrated the feast of Our Mother of the Rosary, keeping in mind the situations experienced at the present time in the five continents and asking for Peace, while they finished artistically coloring the image of Mary, which was drawn on one of the walls of the school’s courtyard so that,  at all times reminds us of what we can learn from it.
