Today, we came together to #SeaTheChange on International Coastal Clean Up Day!
Led by the passionate Eco-Scouts of SOLIDARIDAD-IDP’s Children and Youth Disaster Risk Management (CYDRM), we mobilized a dedicated team of volunteers, including SOLIDARIDAD-IDP staff, parent volunteers, and representatives from the Marang-Marang Barangay Local Government Unit in Basilan, Philippines.
We were also joined by the Prelature of Isabela de Basilan, Missionary Dominican Sisters of the Rosary, the Government of Isabela City thru City General Services Office (CGSO), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Social Work Interns from Claret College of Isabela, the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Marang-marang, the Parents and children of enrolled in the project of SOLIDARIDAD-IDP in the area and some locals, too . Each of us played a vital role in cleaning the beautiful shores of Marang-Marang, demonstrating our commitment to preserving our coastal environment.
This collaborative effort highlights the power of community action and the importance of protecting our natural resources. Together, we’re not just cleaning up the ugly sight of trash or disposing used items but, protecting marine life and the living environment of our people and the future of the beautiful island of Basilan. Hence, we’re raising awareness and fostering a sense of responsibility towards our planet.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made a difference today!
Let’s continue to work together for a cleaner, greener future. #InternationalCoastalCleanUpDay2024 #ECO-SCOUTS #SeaTheChange
